We will start accepting session proposals for the JpGU Meeting 2021
on October 13.

session proposals.

Place: Pacifico Yokohama North, Yokohama, Japan
*The meeting format may change into virtual meeting
depending on the situation. We will inform you as soon as possible in
such case.

#3. Information for 2020 Meeting Participation ID (Nonmember ID) Holders

The meeting participation ID (Nonmember ID), 6 digits starting for
20-, is an ID only for the purpose of the 2020 meeting participation.
This ID will be deleted on September 30.
This also applies to AOGS and EGU members who have obtained this
type of ID.
The meeting participation ID for the upcoming 2021 meeting will be
available in October. Please visit our website after October for
further information.

(1) Japan Earth Science Olympiad Committee
The call for participants for the 13th Japan Earth Science Olympiad
has started. Due to the COVID-19, the tournament is a bit different
this year.

-Call for participants: Sept 1 (TUE) – Nov 15 (SUN), entry accepted
via online submission only
-First elimination round: Dec 20 (SUN) 2PM-3PM, online exam
-Second elimination round: Jan 24 (SUN), online exam
-Representative selection: Mar 16 (TUE) – 17 (WED) at Tsukuba
(may change to online format)

(2) Educational Subcommittee for International Affairs
Earth Science Week is national and international event to help the
public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth
sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth.

The 3rd Earth Science Week Japan is held online on the following
schedule.
Period: Sunday, October 17th to Sunday, October 25th.

#7. Information from PEPS

(1) An announcement of PEPS new General-Chief-Editor and Section-Chief-Editor

Dr.Eiji Otani (Tohoku University) became new General-Chief-Editor of
PEPS, and Dr. Yoshihiro Iijima (Mie University) became new
Section-Chief-Editor of Human geosciences from September.
For the papers submitted by August, former General-Chief-Editor
Dr. Iryu and former Section-Chief-Editor Dr. Matsumoto (Human
geosciences) will continue to handle them.
